Tribeca Hebrew/JCP Transition Team Update

Dear Tribeca Hebrew Families,

We wanted to keep you updated and in the loop on our Transition Team efforts as we move together to JCP in the Fall. We continue to meet each week for about two hours to make sure that our children have a smooth transition to JCP. Our conversations are fruitful, warm, and very productive and we feel confident that Darren Levine, Talia Andron, and the JCP team are understanding the unique nature of what our children have experienced at Tribeca Hebrew.

It was good to see the 35 or so people at the recent Open Houses and Information Sessions at JCP.

Here’s the latest information- more can be found at jcpdowntown.org

Tribeca Hebrew families have joined together to form a new and informal “chavurah”. This website is now maintained by this new volunteer group. The activities of the group are still in the planning phase but we have collectively put a calendar in place that includes functions that we will hold ourselves and those that some of us have grown fond of over the years. There are opportunities for study and celebration. A new mission statement is in the process of being written but the central ideas of what we knew as Tribeca Hebrew remain strong:

“Tribeca Hebrew offers a welcoming environment in which children and their families can explore and express their connections with Judaism. Tribeca Hebrew’s programming strives to be fun, engaging and inspiring for children and their families. Our hope is that the Tribeca Hebrew experience will help build a foundation for Jewish identity and lifelong spiritual discovery. The Tribeca Hebrew community continues to grow organically and is not affiliated with any particular synagogue or Jewish movement. We come from varied backgrounds and believe this diversity makes Tribeca Hebrew a dynamic place to explore Jewish life.”
