Please Help Out Our Friend, Chef Bouley
Dear Tribeca Hebrew Families and Community,
Over the years, Chef David Bouley has been an incredibly generous supporter, friend and neighbor of Tribeca Hebrew and the Tribeca community. Just last week, Chef hosted our Purim fundraiser at Bouley Test Kitchen – a great night in which we raised over $60,000 while enjoying his delicious cooking.
As many of you know, Chef is working on his newest neighborhood restaurant – Brushstrokes – at 111 West Broadway, but Community Board 1’s Tribeca sub-committee voted 6-4 to deny his liquor license application. On Tuesday March 25 at 6pm the full Community Board will meet to vote. Please come to the Community Board meeting in the auditorium of St. John’s University (101 Murray Street @ Greenwich St) and speak on behalf of Chef Bouley. All you need to do is fill out a public comment card when you arrive and then you will be called to speak (for up to 3 minutes).
David Bouley is so much more than a great chef and restaurateur. From the immediate days after 9/11 when he fed hundreds of rescue workers to his generous donations to so many city organizations, David Bouley has been an active and generous member of our community. Chef Bouley has been there for Tribeca Hebrew since our founding and now we have the opportunity to be there for him. So please join me at the Community Board 1 meeting on Tuesday March 25 at 6pm and urge the Board to grant Chef Bouley his new liquor license.
Please help here.
Thanks.
Jon Silvan and the Tribeca Hebrew Board
