Meet Dorothy Kauffman, our new Executive Director

Dorothy Kauffman has held leadership positions in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors and specializes in marketing, development and new business. She enjoyed a prominent role in the music industry, often working at the intersection of business and the arts.

She served as a Senior Director at BMG Direct (a division of Bertelsmann A.G.) managing the BMG Classical Music Service and as the Chief Marketing and Editorial Officer at Rosetta Books, where Dorothy helped create and guide a highly touted pioneer in electronic publishing.

Dorothy has served as the Executive Director of the Jerusalem Foundation and the American Associates of the Royal Academy Trust, the American arm of Great Britain’s Royal Academy of Arts. At both organizations, she spearheaded all development and marketing initiatives, professionalized the operations, increased visibility, and managed a variety of programmatic and fund-raising activities.

A native New Yorker, Dorothy attended Manhattan Day School, The Dalton School and Barnard College where she graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She earned Master Degrees from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and the Fordham University Graduate School of Business. She speaks Hebrew, French and German. Dorothy lives in Manhattan with her husband and daughter.

Dorothy is thrilled to have joined the team at Tribeca Hebrew and looks forward to meeting and getting to know all the parents and students. You may contact her at dorothy@tribecahebrew.org.

Tribeca Hebrew offers a welcoming environment in which children and adults alike can explore and express their connections with Judaism. Tribeca Hebrew’s programming strives to be fun, engaging and inspiring for children and their families. Our hope is that the Tribeca Hebrew experience will help build a foundation for Jewish identity and lifelong spiritual discovery. The Tribeca Hebrew community continues to grow organically and is not affiliated with any particular synagogue or Jewish movement. We come from varied backgrounds and believe this diversity makes Tribeca Hebrew a dynamic place to explore Jewish life.
